New-generation Audi R8 will be unveiled next year.
Manufacturers are in the midst of pushing their latest creations to the limits at the Nurburgring, and following some spy shots of the next-gen Audi R8 heavily disguised at the Green Hell, we have some awesome footage. The new R8 is heavily tipped to share a platform with the Lamborghini Huracan, and thanks to its combined aluminum and carbon-fiber structure the next-gen R8 will shave up to 200 pounds off its curb weight. Rumors suggest the base motor will be a variant of the twin-turbo V8 found in the RS6, RS7 and S8.
However, there’s still a chance Audi will continue with the popular 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8. A V10 will continue to serve as the upmarket engine, with both units mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Check it out in action and look forward to a reveal next year.
