Watch Baby Driver's Jaw-Dropping Opening Car Chase Right Now

Now you can see what all the fuss is about.

If you still haven't watched Edgar Wright's acclaimed car chase flick Baby Driver (and if you haven't then shame on you), you're probably wondering what all the fuss is about. Well, wonder no more, because you can now watch the film's jaw-dropping opening car chase scene in its entirety courtesy of Columbia Pictures. Starring a Subaru Impreza WRX STI, Ansel Elgort's character Baby gives the getaway car a thorough workout in the film's first heist. Unlike Fate of the Furious, all of the stunt driving was done for real, and it shows.

The scene doesn't rely on extravagant set-pieces to get your pulse racing. Instead, Baby uses his driving skills to outwit his pursuers: it's so refreshing to see the stunt driving take center stage when most modern car movies resort to CGI. Those close-up reaction shots of the actors? No green screen was used, so you know they were all genuine. Everything is grounded in reality.

The six-minute scene is masterfully edited, too, perfectly choreographed to the song 'Bellbottoms' by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion without relying on quick, incoherent cuts to ramp up the excitement. Practically every scene is synced to the soundtrack which is what makes the film so unique. Even the sound of the Subaru's turbocharged growl is authentic: there are no dubbed V8 sounds here; a common nitpick from gearheads when watching movie car chases without the same attention to detail. With its critical acclaim and Box Office success, it's little wonder Wright has already been asked to write a sequel. Now if you'll excuse us, we'll be watching this on repeat.
