Just in time to celebrate the game's launch.
Racing game fans rejoice: Forza Horizon 5, this year's most hotly anticipated racing game, is out now. Those who bought the Premium Edition can access the game from November 5, four days before the general release on November 9.
The latest installment in the open-world racing game series takes the Horizon Festival to Mexico, the largest and most diverse location in a Forza Horizon game to date. To celebrate the game's launch, a new live-action TV commercial titled The Getaway Driver has been released and it perfectly captures the fun, freedom, and atmosphere of a Forza Horizon game.
The short film stars Cristo Fernandez, best known for his role as Dani Rojas in Ted Lasso, as a jaded taxi driver who daydreams about going on epic road trips across Mexico in his red BMW 5 Series E12. A passenger version of himself encourages him to make his fantasy a reality. Showcasing the game's diverse range of environments, the BMW 5 Series gets taken on an epic journey across a desert, where it overtakes a Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Bronco while outrunning a sandstorm.
The next stage of the automotive adventure sees the BMW race past ancient ruins in a rainforest before dueling with a classic Porsche 911 driven by singer Karol G on a dock.
After the 911 Targa driver loses her in a chase around a coastal town, the film culminates on a beach, where the taxi driver trades his old BMW for a Mercedes-AMG One, the game's cover car star. Sadly, you can't drive the BMW 5 Series E12 in Forza Horizon 5, but there are over 500 cars to choose from including the AMG One and Ford Bronco.
Forza Horizon 5 is available now for Xbox Series and Xbox One consoles as well as PC. If you own a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 and feel left out, don't worry because Gran Turismo 7 will release on March 4, 2022, following a delay.
