Terra firma is filled with many scary creatures: from rabid raccoons and anti-vaxxers to billionaire space tycoons and poisonous centipedes. Yet it is not land you should fear, but what lurks beneath the waves of our oceans. As has been told for centuries in Japanese literature, or decades in Hollywood films, there sleeps a creature so massive and scary below the surface of the sea that its power and destructive capabilities are unfathomable. Its name: Godzilla. This mythical creature sometimes features a long scaly tail and massive mandibles, and at other times sports four wheels, two doors, and the Moniker "Nissan GT-R". In this rare YouTube Clip posted by Marz Elbanz, we get to see this rare creature slip back into the Philippine sea after someone failed to secure it on land.

The video was filmed at a recently-held drag racing event and shows the white Nissan GT-R quietly slipping into the warm blue ocean waters off the coast of Cebu Island in the Philippines. The tragic event takes place just as two Honda Civic drag cars are about to race, but the sad sight immediately pulls a massive crowd. According to one eye witness who spoke to Motor1, the driver of the GT-R had left the car in neutral, and failed to engage the parking brake. The Nissan GT-R is no featherweight at 3,935 pounds and started sinking as soon as it hit the water. Within seconds the white sports car was below water, and any hopes of recovering it with minor damages were dashed.

The Nissan R35 GT-R has been around for well over a decade, and this Japanese supercar is a common sight art car events, but with the R35 generation slowly being killed off, we're going to be seeing less and less of these noble beasts on the roads and strips, so any loss will always be filled with sorrow, and to many gearheads, seeing a Japanese performance car die a slow and painful death like that is much worse than seeing an exotic Italian supercar take a wet nap. Rest in peace, sweet beast of the seas. You will never be forgotten.
