Hennessey Performance has a reputation for extracting absurd amounts of power from iconic American cars, from the 'Exorcist' Chevrolet Camaro to the 'Maximus' Jeep Gladiator, both capable of producing up to 1,000 horsepower. Hennessey's latest mean machine is called the Goliath 700, which is available as either a Chevrolet Silverado or a GMC Sierra 1500. Both trucks are powered by General Motor's 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine cranked up to an impressive 700 hp by Hennessey Performance thanks to a 2.9-liter supercharger.

Hennessey unveiled the Goliath 700 back in February, and now a new video released by the tuner shows the 700-hp pickup truck being put through its paces around the Pennzoil Proving Grounds test track.

There's no distracting dialogue or music in the video - just the raw sound of the Goliath 700's glorious supercharged soundtrack for your ears to enjoy. It sounds just as savage as you would expect.

In a separate video, we get to see Hennessey pit the Goliath 700 against the stock 2020 Chevrolet Silverado it's based on in a drag race to demonstrate how the tuner's modifications affect the performance. In stock form, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado's 6.2-liter V8 produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, so you can probably already guess the result. The stock version has a strong start off the line, but it doesn't take long for it to get destroyed by the Goliath.

As well as a 2.9-liter supercharger, the Goliath's massive power increase was achieved by an upgraded camshaft and pushrods, and dyno tuning. HPE's Stage-1 Off-Road package also adds a six-inch lift, custom 20-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch tires, and a custom bumper with LED lighting.

Pricing for the Goliath 700 Supercharger package starts at $29,950, while the off-road package is available separately for $16,950. Other options include a Brembo 15.1-inch front brake upgrade, stainless steel exhaust system, drop-down side steps, a Goliath-branded interior, and an electric retractable bed cover.
