The Honda Civic Si is one of the most popular tuner cars of our time, and the 11th generation brings that cheap and cheerful spirit into the 21st century with a healthy dose of turbo power. Everyone knows that there are Civics cruising the streets of America with tons of power, and people love to push these little Japanese hatchbacks and sedans to the limit, but moderate power increases can be even more fun than undrivable 700-horsepower builds - just ask Honda tuning experts Hondata. The company previously posted a video of its 2022 Honda Civic Si laying down some impressive base figures, and now we get to see them push up the power with some custom software tweaks.

The 2022 Honda Civic Si is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 200 hp and 192 lb-ft from the factory. Power is sent to the front wheels via a slick six-speed manual transmission. Hondata makes use of a hub dyno for seriously accurate readings, and in their previous video, we saw the stock Hondata car make significantly more power than Honda claims. The car made 222 horses and 234 lb-ft of torque, which is some serious sandbagging, but you won't see us or anybody who's bought one complaining about that sort of discrepancy. More power equals more smiles, always.

The test car has seen less than a hundred miles, and the Hondata guys aren't too sure of the quality of the fuel, so the first round of tuning has been rather conservative, but the outcome is still very impressive. After a few pulls on the dyno, the graph shows a linear power increase across the board with between 18 and 37 horses gained, mainly over the mid-range. Torque also takes a massive leap, and increases by between 40 and 50 lb-ft across the midrange, skyrocketing from just past 2,000 rpm, and holding on nicely until about 5,500 rpm. This little motor has a lot of potential, and we can't wait to see what numbers guys push with an upgraded turbo and some exhaust work.
