Watch: McLaren 720S Spreads Christmas Joy By Drifting With Christmas Lights

Supercars / Comments

With a ton of Christmas lights.

In this video posted to Instagram by roninprojekts and Alex Choi, we get to a McLaren 720S one decked out in Christmas lights drifting around and spreading festive cheer.

We all know that the McLaren 720S is a blisteringly fast car. So fast, in fact, that many argue that owners of these types of vehicles should require a special supercar license to prove that they're worthy.

We've seen countless McLaren cars head for the junkyard after attempting crazy stunts on public roads, but driver Alex Choi seems to know what he's doing. We think it's the perfect way to celebrate the holidays while sliding (literally) into a new year.

The McLaren 720S is one of the wildest-looking supercars around and is the definition of speed, but all its styling comes from the blood, sweat, and tears of engineers and wind tunnels, not backyard body shops.

Wrapping the car in Christmas lights was a stroke of genius and looks terrific while drifting about. The Christmas lights cover nearly every inch of this McLaren, including the hood, roof, and rear diffuser. The lights shine so brightly when switched on that only owners and big fans can recognize the silhouette of the 720S.

There's no word on how long it took to mount all those lights, but we're thinking a good few hours.

In the video, the car can be seen smoking its tires, drifting, and generally hooning about, which is what the 720S loves nearly as much as track driving.

The 720S was the perfect choice for this bit of Christmas cheer as it's one good-looking car and obviously massively powerful.

Under the engine cover of the 720S sits a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 710 horsepower. This is good enough for a 0-62 mph time of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 212 mph.
