Italy's most powerful road car is nearly ready for production.
The Rimac Nevera set a new benchmark for electric hypercars when the production model debuted back in June. Rimac also made headlines when it recently took over Bugatti to create a new joint venture called Bugatti-Rimac, but Pininfarina isn't letting Rimac take all the spotlight. It's been over two years since the electric Battista hypercar debuted as Italy's most powerful road car, and now the production version is nearly ready for its world premiere.
Pininfarina will present the first production-spec Battista to the world in America at Monterey Car Week, which takes place on August 12-15. Previewed in a teaser image hiding under the covers, the first production Battista will be finished in black exposed carbon fiber and ride on polished Impulso rims.
Inside, the luxury interior will be trimmed in black sustainable leather with contrasting Iconica Blu stitching and quilted Pilota seats in Iconica Blu Alcantara. The seats will also feature Pilota Carbon Components finished in black exposed carbon matching the exterior. This will be the first time clients will get to see the finished interior and hear the Battista's stirring soundtrack.
Also on display at Monterey Car Week will be the Battista Anniversario, which will make its US debut at the event. Limited to just five units, the car pays tribute to the company's founder, Battista 'Pinin' Farina while celebrating the company's 90th anniversary. The Battista Anniversario is distinguished by a unique livery and an aerodynamic body kit featuring a front splitter, side blades, and a rear diffuser.
In addition, a selection of historic cars designed by Pininfarina will be displayed and judged at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
"The premiere of the first production-specification Battista in the US marks the beginning of another significant chapter in the Automobili Pininfarina story," said Per Svantesson, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina.
"We are excited to showcase the beautiful and sustainable future of luxury to our clients, while celebrating more than 90 years of design heritage during Monterey Car Week. We look forward to our clients in the US experiencing the immense dynamic performance and personalized luxury of Battista for the first time."
Powering the Pininfarina Battista is a 120-kWh battery and four electric motors producing a combined 1,900 hp and 1,696 lb-ft of torque. With this setup, the Battista will rocket from 0-62 mph in under two seconds, which is faster than a modern Formula 1 car. Production will be limited to just 150 examples, each of which can be tailored using Pininfarina's extensive personalization program with 128 million possible combinations. To showcase the myriad personalization options, Pininfarina presented a bespoke Battista with a unique color scheme inspired by New York City last month.
Priced at an eye-watering $2.2 million, the Pininfarina Battista can be ordered in the US at retailers located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Dallas, Toronto, New York, Miami, and Vancouver.
