Not only do the Germans build some awesome cars, but they also get the privilege of pushing said cars to the limit on the world-famous Autobahn. These partially unrestricted German highways make the perfect playgrounds for high powered sports cars, and As we've seen from supercharged Mustangs and even high-performance SUVs such as the Audi RS Q8, getting past 180 mph is quite the accomplishment. A YouTube video released by Automann-TV shows the recently facelifted Mercedes-AMG E63 S blasting down the Autobahn at full tilt, reaching some impressive top speeds, and once again proving that you don't need an impractical supercar to do ridiculous speeds.

The Mercedes-AMG E63 S has been updated for the 2021 model year and has seen exterior and interior styling changes, along with a generous supply of new tech features. The new bold grille gives it a more aggressive appearance, and the interior sees the addition of a new infotainment screen layout for a more contemporary look. Under the hood things stay the same, though: there's a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that churns out 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, which enables the super sedan to sprint to sixty in only 3.3 seconds, although, considering in the video is hits 62 in the same time, real-world figures could be even quicker. Top speed is rated at 186 mph (which is electronically limited), and power is sent to all fours via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The video shows the E63 S launching from a standstill to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds. The driver keeps his foot in it, and the 124 mph mark is decimated in only 11.2 seconds. The 60 mph to 124 mph dash is completed in 7.7 seconds. The car is then pushed to its limit, and reaches close to 186 mph before having to slow down for traffic. Finally traffic clears up and the E63 S is pushed to the 300 km/h mark in effortless fashion, and once again we are left with a great desire for an American Autobahn.
