'I Am Paul Walker' will air on Paramount Network on August 11th.
On November 13, 2013, car enthusiasts lost a legend when beloved Hollywood actor Paul Walker was tragically killed at the age of 40. He was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend and race car driver Roger Rodas, who lost control of the convertible sports car and slammed into a tree. The impact killed Rodas instantly and left Walker badly injured. Unfortunately, the car burst into flames before Walker could be saved.
He was best known for playing the role of Brian O' Conner in the Fast & Furious films and his love of cars, but Walker was also a passionate surfer and philanthropist. Next month, his life and career will be chronicled in the new documentary 'I Am Paul Walker' airing on Paramount Network on August 11th.
A few weeks before the premiere, Paramount has released the first trailer of the documentary, where we get to see previously unseen footage of Walker's family life and co-stars such as Tyrese Gibson paying tribute to the late actor. As footage from his younger years in the trailer shows, Walker has always had a passion for driving fast. "He liked to go fast," his sister Ashlie Walker said. "As soon as I was old enough to hang on tight, I was on the back of his big wheel with him, going for the ride of my life."
As well as chronicling Walker's film career, the documentary will explore a side of Walker not many people are aware of, such as his passion for the world's oceans and marine-life and his charity work where he helped rebuild Haiti after a devastating earthquake.
Directed by Adrian Buitenhuis, whose credits include "I Am Heath Ledger", the documentary will provide unique insights into Walker's life from family, friends and co-stars. From the trailer, the documentary will be an extremely emotional tribute to the life and legacy of Paul Walker.
