Watch The Insane Apollo IE Hypercar Smoke The Streets Of Hong Kong

Yes, the V12-powered Apollo IE can do some tire-shredding burnouts.

Of all the hypercars that were unveiled this year, the Apollo Intensa Emozione was one of the most insane. Essentially a spiritual successor to the Gumpert Apollo, this tire-shredding track toy is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 engine taken from a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta that revs up to 9,000 rpm and produces 780 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. Combine that with its striking styling and ultra-light carbon fiber body, and you have a recipe for the ultimate track toy.

We were recently treated to the earth shattering sound of its screaming V12 during a brief test run at the Italian Cremona circuit. Now it seems that Apollo is testing prototypes on the road, as the IE hypercar was recently spotted out on the streets of Hong Kong. Luckily, an on-looker was able to capture some footage of the Apollo IE being let loose on the public road for the first time.

Don’t expect to see it on the public road very often though, as this beast is restricted to the racetrack. At only 13 seconds, the video is short but sweet and very, very loud as we once again get to listen to its naturally aspirated V12 roar. We can also confirm that the Apollo IE is very capable of doing burnouts, as the driver engulfs the streets with copious amounts of tire smoke. Don’t forget that Apollo was bought out by the Hong Kong-based company Ideal Team Ventures, which probably explains why the IE was being shown off in its hometown. With a curb weight of 2,755 lbs and a 45:55 front/rear weight distribution, we’re desperate to tear up the track in an Apollo IE.
