Unless, of course, you already have a passion for the original Z car.
There’s no question that Datsun (now Nissan) created an instant classic when it launched the 240Z back in 1969. It was considered the poor man’s Ferrari at the time thanks to its long hood and short rear deck design. Powered by a 2.4-liter inline-six producing around 153 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque, the 240Z was a pure sports car in every sense. And it caught on with American buyers immediately. It remains a favorite to this day, and this father-son duo share Z car passion together.
Mel Streek and his son Ollie each have their own 240Z. Only thing is, Ollie’s looks prettier from the outside. Mel’s 240Z, despite its rough exterior coloring, is the better one to drive. But neither of them have any intention of selling their cars. These are for life.
