This is what 1,200 horsepower is capable of.
Just the other day, we brought you a video showcasing a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Pur Blanc hitting 246 mph on a public road. And now, on that same road, a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse is making its own run. With 1,200 horsepower on tap, the Veyron Grand Sport is currently the world's fastest production convertible. It previously set a world record speed of 254 mph. So the question is whether or not this particular Grand Sport Vitesse can match that speed.
Well, not quite, but the 241 mph it did manage to do is anything but slow. With its quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine, this Veyron literally sounds like a jet plane taking off on the runway. Do note that the hard top panel has been left in place. Too bad, because 241 mph would have been awesome to experience without a roof.
