It must be of some comfort to the owner of this Rolls-Royce Ghost that the double R center caps on the wheels remain upright while the rear end of this Roller points to the sky as if nothing has gone wrong. Not as comfortable is the scare they must have gotten when the road opened up in front of them while waiting for the light to turn green so they could drive down the streets of Harbin, the capital of north-eastern China's Heilongjiang Province-swallowing their luxury car whole.

Sinkholes can happen for various reasons, but they usually take place without warning. As the UK's Mirror reports via Jalopnik, the owner of this £560,000 Roller was forced to climb through the window to get out when the sinkhole opened up after they hit the gas when the light turned green. It seems that the 6.6-liter V12's 563 horsepower can now literally be considered earth-shaking, at least enough to cause the six-foot deep and six-foot wide sinkhole to appear in the middle of the road.
