The Nissan Z is the latest model in the brand's Z-line of performance sports cars. It's also the most powerful (yet) but Z1 Motorsports proves that it can extract more from the Z car through its newest creation: the 600R.

Z1 Motorsports, an aftermarket performance parts and tuning company specializing in Nissan and Infiniti cars, claims that the 600R takes the Z's performance to new heights, offering enthusiasts an unparalleled driving experience. Its name is derived from the impressive 600-wheel horsepower it makes - a non-official preview to the upcoming Nissan Z Nismo that is set to arrive this year.

Under the hood of the 600R lies a powerful VR30 twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine. Modifications include carbon fiber strut tower bars, upgraded intakes, low-pressure fuel pumps, and specially designed non-hybrid turbos. Z1 Motorsports' larger turbos are said to provide more reliable power delivery and better engine cooling.

Of note, with over 600 hp at the crank, this tuned Nissan Z should make more horsepower than a Ferrari Roma but falls a tad short when compared to the 700-hp monster created by AMS Performance.

"We've been able to achieve over 600 hp to the wheels with the stock engine internals," says Matthew. This power output is said to have been achieved while maintaining engine reliability, thanks to the supporting fueling system developed by Z1 Motorsports itself.

The 600R is not just about power; it's a complete upgrade package, just like the Nissan Z GT4 race car minus the decals and body kits. The suspension has been improved, with special attention placed on braking. The 600R also offers three levels of brake upgrades: the 4G Performance brakes, track brakes, and competition brakes.

With massive 15-inch rotors and six-piston calipers, the company claims that stopping power on the track is greatly improved. For those seeking a balance between street use and performance, the track brakes offer the same specs as the Nissan GT-R. Z1 Motorsports will also provide customers with unique badging, including a serialized plate for authenticity.

The Nissan Z has tested quite well in our drives but with this build, it has the potential of becoming quite a beast. "The 600R represents the ultimate Street version of the Z," explains Matthew. "We wanted to make it the sharpest, most responsive car out there."
