Where to begin with this one? Inspired by the Myers Manx of the 1960s, kit car maker WaterCar has released details and pricing about their latest home project car. The $29,500 WaterCar Gator comes complete with a fiberglass body, gear box and transmission assembly. For those who are handy enough, you'll need to install the rear water jet propulsion unit to the steering assembly and basically put the rest of the car together.

Other components that are included are the hood, doors, deck lid, windshield, high torque drive axles, and stainless steel hardware. Owners will also need to bolt the chassis and engine from a Beetle in order to complete their Wrangler water friendly look-alike. While we don't think the finished product looks horrible, it just seems a little, for lack of a better word, goofy. For a project car, it's certainly not cheap and how often does one find themselves submerged in deep waters? Probably not often enough, as a real Jeep Wrangler is certainly the better vehicle for roughly the same price.
