A small French-built, retro-like roadster concept is just what we're looking for. Too bad it's not on sale in the US.
Although it originally debuted at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, the PGO Cevennes Water Snake speedster concept has only now been fully revealed online. And we love what we see. PGO Automobiles is a niche sports car maker from France that once specialized in building high-end replicas of some classic European sports cars such as Porsches. It later went on to build an enthusiast roadster of its own called the Cevennes. The Water Snake Concept represents the latest updates to the Cevennes inside and out.
It features a new blue carbon exterior, new BMW-style headlights, LED daytime running lights and 18" aluminum wheels. Along with an updated center console, the interior receives a leather-wrapped dash, carbon fiber trim and quilted leather trim on the seats. Power comes from a mid-mounted, BMW-sourced 1.6-liter four that delivers 181 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque that’s paired to a six-speed manual which sends power to the rear wheels. With a maximum speed of about 140 mph, the Cevennes Speedster is a classic roadster in every sense but – big shocker – isn’t being sold in the US.
