The Ford Focus ST can be classified as one of those rare, multi-purpose gearhead cars. The reasons should be obvious. It's a five-door hatchback, making it an ideal family car. It's got a powerful 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 252 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. It drives well, handles well, and looks pretty darn good. And yes, it's got a six-speed manual. Like the VW Golf GTI, the Focus ST represents the complete package for many people.

It's a great compromise for young gearhead parents, or really anyone else who desires performance and utility for a reasonable price. We're just happy that Ford decided to share the Focus ST with the US instead of leaving it entirely for Europe. But how does it rate with the sarcastic crew of Regular Car Reviews?
