Falling asleep at the wheel is a bad thing to do in any vehicle, and is an especially bad idea in a 7-tonne truck. That's why professional truckers require powers of endurance and concentration as well as regular intakes of caffeine-laden beverages. Tiredness on the road can be a killer, literally. It only takes a few seconds for a driver to slip into sleep and end up in a ditch. And when you're in control of a truck the consequences can be disastrous.

Despite all his efforts, the driver that filmed this heart-stopping incident was unable to wake his fellow truck driver from a deep stupor, and watched on helplessly as he careered off the road and into the path of an oncoming truck.

While blaring the horn the camera-carrying trucker can be heard (in Russian) alerting other drivers on the radio about the driver in a deep sleep. Unfortunately, as you'll see in the video, it was to no avail.
