In all honesty, we didn't even know this award existed. But hey, why not? The judges sitting on the panel for the World Women's Car of the Year have just announced their picks for 2014. And in all honesty, some were a bit of a surprise. After all the votes were received and counted, the supreme winner was the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It also won in the luxury class where it was separated by just one-tenth of a point from the Audi A8 and Tesla Model S.

In other categories, the Women's World Family Car of the Year was the Audi A3, the sports car of the year was the Audi S3, economy car the Honda Jazz/Fit, green car the Tesla Model S, and the best SUV the Range Rover Sport. Just for fun, the lady judges were asked to nominate their dream car as well. The winner, no surprise here, was the Jaguar F-Type Coupe. Excellent choice, ladies.
