With hypercars like the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder featuring hybrid powertrains for added performance, it was only a matter of time until that technology found its way to everyday vehicles. One of the most surprising cars from the Frankfurt Motor Show is this monster: the Peugeot 308 R Hybrid. What makes this vehicle a monster? How about 493 hp and the ability to get to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds? Those performance figures are definitely nothing to smirk at.

The 308 R Hybrid's power comes from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and two 114 hp electric motors on each axle. Besides having an enormous amount of power, the hatchback has a 60/40 weight distribution, which isn't bad for an all-wheel-drive hatchback. To complement the 308 R Hybrid's newfound power, the vehicle features a wider stance, a beefy set of 235/35 R19 wheels and tires, as well as all of the scoops, creases and hard edges we could ever ask for. All of this makes the vehicle one of the angriest things to wear a Peugeot badge.
