Chevrolet was caught somewhat off-guard by the advancements of the latest Ford F-150 when the latter was revealed over a year ago. Fortunately, the Bowtie brand has now struck back with the first image of the refreshed 2016 Silverado. We'll receive full details in the near future, but for now it's obvious the most distinct changes are in the front-end styling. Gone is much of that chrome detailing, replaced by a body-colored strip running across the middle of the grille. There's also new fog lights featuring LED technology and dual LED daytime running lights.

The image you see here is the Z71 trim. Notice that the hood has a more aggressive look than before and the front bumper has been toned down somewhat. Chevrolet says that other updates will include the latest MyLink infotainment system with support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There's also expanded use of 8-speed transmissions. More details to come. In the meantime, what do you think of the Silverado's new look? We've also tossed in several images of the current Silverado for comparison.
