It's not all that surprising to learn that Ferrari has some sort of special edition car, often custom built for a specific customer. The most recent and revealed examples include the F12tdf-based Ferrari SP275 RW and the twin-turbo V8 J50, of which just 50 examples are being made available in Japan. But today, thanks to Instagram user and Ferrari owner "gregb.23," we're catching wind of yet another Maranello-produced surprise.

Motor1 did a bit of digging around and, based on what some members of the Ferrari Chat forums are saying, this mystery Ferrari looks like it could be a blend of a 458 Italia and 458 Speciale, although with one key difference, a V12 engine. We can confirm the engine picture shown here is that of a V12, but the rest of the car remains an unknown. Some of those same forum members are also wondering whether this is a 458/488-based test mule of the LaFerrari. So imagine the LaFerrari's guts transplanted into the body of a 458/488. What's clear is that this mystery Ferrari is about to be revealed at some sort of private gathering. Hopefully we'll learn more in the coming days.
