It wasn't so long ago when Bentley's financial situation was, well, pretty dreadful. The Volkswagen Group gave the ultra-luxury and performance brand a specific time frame to turn things around or else. Because failure was not an option, Bentley made a number of production line improvements and tackled other areas where costs could be cut and productivity increased. Today, things have never been better. And now Bentley is working on securing its future by moving into the realm of all-electric powertrains.

This was previewed by the stunning EXP 100 GT Concept with 1,340 horsepower and 1,100 lb-ft of torque. Will this become the brand's first all-electric model? Probably not, but today Bentley has previewed something that maybe, just maybe, will.

A Bentley Continental GT, painted in blue with some interesting bodyside graphics and other exterior modifications, is shown in Kitzbühel, Austria via Bentley on Twitter. We'll know what exactly is going on here tomorrow (Tuesday). So, what could this be? A new Continental GT variant? Definitely, yes, but the question is whether it'll be a production vehicle or a new concept. There could be a few clues, however.

Notice the number 9 painted on the grille and the red tow hook beneath it. There's also a roof rack with what could be LEDs facing front. The big coupe's ride height also appears to be raised and there are new black trim pieces on the wheel arches.

Our best guess is that this is an off-road-focused, let's head to the nearest Alpine ski resort, Continental GT with various upgrades. Kitzbuhel, as it so happens, is a small Alpine town in western Austria renowned for being a winter resort and its annual Hahnenkamm downhill ski race, which just took place this past weekend. All speculation will officially come to an end tomorrow when Bentley releases full details.
