One has a V8, the other a V6. Only one winner.
It's impossible to argue that the Jaguar F-Type is anything but outright beautiful. The Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG? Not bad looking but definitely nowhere near the Jag in the styling department. However, the Benz roadster is powered by an AMG-developed 5.5-liter V8 that makes 413 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The F-Type here does not have that absolutely incredible supercharged V8; a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 375-hp and 339 lb-ft is what lies under its long hood.
And despite the engine and power output differences, these two roadsters actually have a lot in common. They're both expensive, special, and fantastic sounding. But in any direct matchup, there can be only one winner. Motor Trend's Jonny Lieberman drives both in search of a victor.
