It's not as if you'll ever go offroading in it.
Since the fifth AMG SUV was unveiled in Detroit at the start of the year, we hadn’t given the GLA45 AMG much thought. The A45 and CLA45 AMG models come with the same 2.0-liter turbo-four offering 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, but have the distinct advantage of being far better looking. So what’s the point of the GLA45? That’s something Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe tries to ascertain in his latest review.
Apart from offering slightly more road clearance, a higher seating position and some offroading aptitude, the G45 AMG is nothing more than the aforementioned pocket rockets’ uglier sibling. It still looks like a hoot to drive and bests most cars in its class. But, you know, it’s all relative.
