Sales

Hint: it ain't the Miata.

You probably won’t be in the least bit surprised, but the news is still great nonetheless. According to IHS Automotive global registration data, the new Ford Mustang is now the world’s best-selling sports ca for the first half of 2015. During the first six months of 2015, customers globally registered 76,124 Mustangs – a 56 percent increases versus the same period last year." In the US alone, the Mustang outsold the Camaro by 70 percent last month.

Aside from the US, who else are buying Mustangs? Uh, like nearly everyone. The Mustang is now sold in over 100 markets worldwide, including those where people drive on the wrong side of the road. The right-hand-drive market, which includes the UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, has also made quite a sales contribution. Nearly 2,000 orders have been taken in the UK since January alone, and demand is quickly outstripping supply. In regards to China, the Mustang is now one of the hottest new cars. But back to the US; Southern California, the biggest sports car market in the nation, has more than doubled Mustang sales this year alone.
