Some say they don't make 4x4s like they use to. Perhaps they're right. Many of today's off-roaders are equipped with just about every comfortable feature you could ask for. Some of that is required by law, however. But still, some still clamor for the good old days of simple, bare bones 4x4s that had tons of character. Take this 1952 Willys Jeep and this 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser, as good examples. One is a military Jeep, the other an all-around rock solid old school SUV.

If you had the choice, excluding cost, which would take home? It's a tough call, we'll admit, but the hosts of Generation Gap do their best to pick a winner. Trust us, it's not an easy task.
