The Ferrari 250 GTO is the most expensive car on the planet. In part, that's due to its rarity with just 39 units built between 1962 and 1964. It also happens to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Ukrainian rendering artist, Sergiy Dvornytskyy, thought it would be interesting to see what the car, having presumably gone through various changes over the years, would look like today had it never died. The result is the Ferrari 612 GTO III, sharing the name with the 612 produced from 2004 through 2011, but nothing else.

Like the original 250 that inspired it, the concept boasts a low-slung front end with a trio of central vents on the hood that we'll assume (as the artist didn't specify) is housing a powerful V12 borrowed from the F12 tdf, so a 6.3-liter unit with 770 horsepower on tap. We think that would suit this car perfectly. The raked rear back end and ducktail spoiler are obvious nods to the 250 GTO with similar air vents behind the rear wheels. Completely new taillight graphics are an unusual addition and while the central exhaust pipes look well placed we'd prefer to see a quad exhaust set up like the original. Overall then a fine effort and one Ferrari might want to take a closer look at.
