When A Mystery Ferrari Is Spotted Testing, The Internet Loses Its Mind

Rumor

But seriously…what is this?!

It’s only been a few weeks since we heard rumors about a V6 Ferrari coming in to piss off purists and create another cash cow for the Italian marque. Now pictures of the possible abomination/moneymaker have surfaced on Zero2Turbo. Whatever it is, it sure isn’t a 488 GTB although it retains many similarities to the current mainstream supercar. While some have quickly labeled this car as a test mule for the Dino, others have speculated that it could be a special edition of the 488 GTB like a 488 Speciale.

Still more think that the Ferrari is a one-off built for a wealthy customer who wants to stand out from the crowd since a normal 488 doesn't do the trick. And stand out it does. This white example with hood stripes in the colors of the Italian flag has a few notable differences including air intakes that are positioned differently, a new window profile, and an altered front fascia. If this car is the new Dino, expect it to be powered by a 2.9-liter V6 making anywhere from 450 to 600 horsepower with help from two turbochargers. Even though Dino branded cars that came from the Ferrari factory in the 60s and 70s were considered cheaper entry level Ferraris, don’t expect this one to go for anything less than a Ferrari California T.
