The Tesla Cybertruck is often ridiculed for its polarizing wedge-shaped design and that hilariously infamous debut where Elon Musk failed to demonstrate the electric truck's "shatterproof" glass. And yet these setbacks don't seem to be affecting sales. Amazingly, preorders of the Tesla Cybertruck have already doubled since it was unveiled last November.

A few days after its debut, Tesla announced it had already received 250,000 orders for the Cybertruck. If that wasn't already impressive, pre-order figures more than doubled to 532,000 last month. Clearly, orders for the Tesla Cybertruck are showing no signs of slowing down.

But which States in America have the most customer reservations for the Cybertruck? Thanks to data gathered from more than 1,400 members of the Tesla enthusiast community collated by the CybertruckTalk forum, we now know the answer.

At the top of the list is California, representing 12.9 percent of preorders. This isn't surprising considering that California is the home of Tesla and the high-demand for EVs in this State. Coming in second is Texas at 6.3 percent, which also isn't surprising since Texas has the second-highest populous in the US and has a huge truck enthusiast community. This was followed by Florida with 5.43 percent of orders, while 4.13 percent of Tesla Cybertruck orders came from Washington.

According to the data, the remaining States with the most Cybertruck preorders are Arizona (3.84 percent) Colorado (3.26 percent), New York (2.68 percent) North Carolina (2.32 percent), Georgia (2.17 percent), and Virginia (2.03percent).

Those who preordered the Tesla Cybertruck had to place a refundable $100 deposit but will have to wait until late 2021 or early 2022 to get behind the wheel of the electric truck depending on the specification they ordered. Pricing for the Tesla Cybertruck starts at $39,900 for the entry-level Single Motor RWD model, while the Dual Motor AWD will set you back $49,900. Topping the range at $69,900 is the Tri Motor AWD, which will do 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds and cover more than 500 miles of range on a single charge.
