Which Car Was Just Named "Car of Texas"?

It's not what you'd expect.

Go to Texas and you'll see an abundance of full-size pickup trucks just about everywhere. Everything is bigger in Texas, even the people (go to a Texas BBQ sometime and you'll understand). Texas is also proud of being, well, Texas. It's also mighty proud of America, so it's easy to understand why everyone there loves pickup trucks, cowboy hats, boots, and the 2015 Hyundai Genesis. Wait, what?! The Hyundai Genesis?! Yep.

The South Korean-based automaker has just announced the Texas Auto Writers Association, supposedly "one of the largest and most respected media associations in the US," has selected the Genesis as this year's prize winner in the mid-size luxury segment. The announcement was even made at the Texas Motor Speedway. This is the first time any Hyundai model has won the award and, judging by how fast Hyundai is expanding, it likely won't be the last. Rumor has it that Hyundai is developing a full-size truck that'll compete head-on with the likes of the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500. And, for the record, the new Genesis also took home the prize for best interior.
