For those who aren't satisfied with everything the new Corvette Z06 has to offer – and they'd be nuts to think that, by the way – there's another weapon in Chevrolet's arsenal that ought to do the trick. Revealed last spring, the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition is a limited edition (just 500 examples will be built) road-going track-capable homage to the Corvette Racing C7.R racecars. It comes with the Z07 Performance Package with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin PS Cup 2 tires, and adjustable front and rear aero components.

Its supercharged LT4 V8 spits out 650 blistering horsepower, easily pitting it smack dab against some of the world's best supercars. Magnetic Ride Control and an electronic limited slip diff are also standard.

Tack on a visible carbon fiber hood section, ground effects package, and a jet black leather interior with microfiber accents and you've got the most track-focused Corvette you can get today. And the first one, VIN 001, just sold at the Barret-Jackson auction for a cool $500,000. All proceeds went will be donated to the College for Creative Studies.
