Renault has restyled their Megane for 2012, giving their standard a significant upgrade in both looks and means of motivation. The new models are set to go on sale starting in the UK in April. One of the more significant features in the 2012 Megane is its lineup of engines. These begin with the introduction of three new Stop & Start engines: the dCi 110, dCi 130 and the all-new TCe 115. The French automaker claims that the latter is the most powerful 1.2-liter gasoline engine in the world.

The most impressive thing about the TCe 115 motor is that it is also incredibly efficient, returning 53.3mpg. It is also eco-friendly, emitting only 119g of CO2/km. Its potential range of roughly 620 miles per tank gives even diesel powerplants stiff competition. In terms of styling, Renault updated their Megane for the new year giving it some LED daytime running lights on the front which accentuate the new design lines that run along the car. Chrome highlights help the rear bumper stand out, giving the 2012 edition some personality. Two new colors are available for the exterior, being Azzurro Blue and Arctic White.

On the interior, Renault has added several new trims and colors to further make the Megane your own. Highlights include such things as 'boomerang'-shaped LED lights, sports steering wheel with thumb rests, visible red upholstery stitching and Renault Sport-badged door sill guards and dashboard trim strip for the GT Line. The 2012 Renault Megane will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
