Those who've purchased the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler expecting fancy off-road gauges included in the Uconnect system have noticed the feature seemingly disappear-and they're angry about it. According to AutoGuide, even though the feature was supposed to be a late availability option, some owners were able to use Uconnect's Off Road Pages to see the gauges. Now those pages have disappeared and the Uconnect Cares Twitter account says they won't return until the 2019 model year.

AutoGuide spoke to a few owners of new Wranglers who understandably feel ripped off. "I did a lot of research before ordering my Jeep. Saw the reveal on the computer at the LA auto show. Checked out a few models at a couple auto shows before putting money down and ordering," Wrangler Rubicon owner James Seibert told Off-Road.com, a sister site to AutoGuide. "I was very clear with the dealer what I wanted and made absolutely sure that the Off-Road Pages would be included. Was told yes they would be since the website and manual and FCA reps assured the dealer of what was and was not included."

When some users complained on Twitter, the Uconnect Cares account replied, "Jeep Off-Road Pages for the 2019 model year will be available in late 2018. At this time, Off-Road Pages, unfortunately, are not available for the 2018 model year. We apologize for any disappointment." The feature was then removed from the Jeep Wrangler's build-and-price tool and the static Jeep Wrangler pages on the Jeep website. Off Road Pages replace traditional aftermarket off-road gauges in the new Wrangler. They display pitch, roll, driveline configuration, and driveline vitals to the driver on the Uconnect screen and between the speedometer and tachometer on the instrument panel.

It wasn't clear whether it was just the Uconnect screen that stopped displaying the gauges or if the instrument panel refused to show them, too. A representative for Jeep had earlier stated it the pages would be a late availability option for 2018 model year Wranglers. When AutoGuide asked about the disappearing gauges, the Jeep representative reiterated they would return, stating, "Nothing has changed on our end. Off-road pages will still be late availability." In the meantime, new Wrangler owners will need to go off-roading the old-fashioned way: with a spotter and a winch.
