For whatever reason no one on eBay took a crack at this 2011 Shelby GT500 Super Snake. This car is special for so many reasons, the first (and most important) being that it was the last specialty car Carroll Shelby ever built. In addition to that it was on the cover of "Need for Speed: The Run." Also, it's insanely powerful. There's a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 under the hood that pumps out 750 horsepower, a Ford Racing handling package, 20-inch wheels from HRE and tons of other goodies.

So, why did no one bite on the auction? The proceeds were going to the Carroll Shelby Foundation, so the winner would have been supporting a good cause. Perhaps the fact bidders had to pre-qualify scared folks off. That or the $125,000 price tag might have done the trick. Even though the auction failed it's likely the Super Snake will sell soon, albeit at a reduced price. It's a piece of history that graced the cover of a video game and can torch a dragstrip, which means it won't sit on the lot forever.
