It seems the only way BMW can sell cars in Japan is with a string of special editions. The latest is for the 5 Series and it is called the "Grace Line" edition. Limited to just 160 units, the special edition is differentiated by an exclusive Mineral Gray metallic paint job, unique 18-inch alloys, a matte-chrome finish for the kidney grille, and some otherwise optional extras including adaptive LED headlamps and LED fogs.

The interior boasts sports seats, Oyster-colored Dakota leather upholstery, a Nappa leather M Sport steering wheel, a fully-digital instrument panel, and window shades. The 5 Series Grace Line is available with the 523i, featuring a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine, and a 523d with a 2.0-liter diesel. So, BMW – where's our special edition, then?
