Even though it's starting to get a little long in the tooth, what with it being launched back in 2004, the Porsche Carrera GT is one sexy looking car. It's also a powerful beast thanks to its 5.7-liter V10 that kicks out 612 hp, and can be a handful to control, just ask Jay Leno. With just 1270 built over the four year production run, it's now a sought-after supercar that fetches good money. That brings us to the reason why the GT is being compared to the amazing new 911 R - the price. If you're in the market, they cost similar money.

The Carrera GT is a halo car for many, and so will the 911 R be. Old tech or new tech, where would your money go? We're torn on this one.

The new 911 R will see less models hitting the streets, just 991 of them to be exact, and that means people will want it bad, and will be prepared to fork over silly amounts of money for it. Carrera GT money, in fact. The 911 R is appreciating in value fast, it probably went up by $5,000 by the time you watched the video. These cars will only get parked inside your garage if you have in the region of a million large to shell out, which many clearly do. Those with more money than sense would buy both, but for those who want just one iconic Porsche, the guys at SCD-TV put together this video to help with that decision. Which way would you go if you could afford just one of these cars?
