Everybody, whether they're car people or not, has heard of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche. But what about McLaren? The UK supercar builder might just be the ideal litmus test to determine whether someone is a true car person or not: either they've heard of McLaren or they haven't. A real gearhead bows down to the iconic F1. It's really impossible to go wrong with any new McLaren. Pick your weapon: 650S, 675LT, and the soon to go on sale 570S and 540C – all are outstanding choices. But one of those models isn't going to be sold in the US.

Speaking to Wayne Bruce, the one and only Man Bat, we can now confirm that the 540C won't be available in the US. The 570S? That's America's so-called "entry-level" McLaren. The reason for this decision? Mr. Bruce told us that McLaren "has always reacted quickly to what our customers tell us. And in the US at least, for now they tell us they want the more powerful 570S alone." The McLaren 570S, with its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 spitting out 562 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, will carry a price tag of around $185,000.
