It's not like the regular old C4 Corvette is anything all that rare. Despite its age, you still see them on the road quite frequently. But this particular 1984 C4 is very special. It's so special that its estimated auction value is between $75,000-$100,000. And no, it's not a special edition with some crazy amount of horsepower; it has just 205 ponies coming from its 350 V8. So why so valuable? This is the very first production C4 Corvette ever sold to the public.

It's had only two owners since then, with the latest one buying it back in 1987. Equipped with the Z51 Performance Handling Package, heavy-duty shocks, power windows and locks, six-way power seats, and 16-inch aluminum wheels, it also comes with a copy of its original title, build sheet, and window sticker. The C4 helped bring the Corvette into the modern era as it proved to be a solid competitor to the likes of the Ferraris and Porsches of its time. Its design inside and out was pure 80s goodness. And now it's heading to the auction block later this month at Pebble Beach. Photos courtesy of Mecum Auctions.
