Another one bites the dust, as Wiesmann becomes the latest sports car maker to fall foul of the global recession.
It’s another sad day for the bespoke sports car community as yet another member looks to be following in the footsteps of Artega, De Tomaso, and Melkus. Just a few months after revealing its limited-edition 25th anniversary MF4 Clubsport-S, German carmaker Wiesmann has been found insolvent by the Munster District Court. An insolvency administrator will likely now order the cessation of car production and sell off assets. Co-founders Martin and Friedhelm Wiesmann are reported to have left the company last year.
