Probably not that far off.
With the Mercedes-AMG GT, the German carmaker finally has a true rival to the Porsche 911. And at the Detroit Motor Show, AMG CEO Tobias Moers hinted that a hypercar, something to take on the Porsche 918 Spyder, is also under consideration at Affalterbach. So what could such a model look like? That's something our friends over at TopSpeed have thought about, delivering this rendering of a potential Benz hypercar.
Drawing inspiration from the SLS Black, AMG GT and Vision GT concept, the hypercar has been envisioned to come with the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo boosted to 700 hp tucked behind the seats and two wheel-mounted motors up front that adds another 300 hp for a total of 1,000 hp. With that sort of muscle, 0-62 mph will happen in less than three seconds, and will top out at over 200 mph. If it ever happens, it will also carry a price tag of around one million dollars.
