Nobody familiar with Will.I.Am is going to be too surprised that the recording artist just had to have a car completely different from anyone else's. Yet the car itself might still manage to surprise you. The recently spied creation reportedly cost $900,000 and is based on a 1958 Volkswagen Beetle. Not much of those Beetle underpinnings are left in the finished product, which we're guessing will be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing.

The car has apparently been in the works since 2009, with the build taking forever because Will.I.Am had no real clue about what he was doing and kept changing the desired specs every few weeks. Morgan fenders and a Bentley grille were specifically requested, and he was also insistent that the engine (which is now a supercharged LS3) be moved to the front. According to the accounts from the two different shops the car was sent to, Will.I.Am knows absolutely nothing about cars. Remember that the next time he says he's serious about starting his own car company.
