Ever since it was announced that "Fast & Furious 8" will be released in April 2017, there's been speculation regarding what'll happen next, mainly now that Paul Walker's character has officially been written out of the storyline. There have been a few concerns regarding how successful the franchise will be without one of its biggest stars. In addition, there are also fresh rumors regarding the return of old characters and also talk of Universal Studios potentially bringing in Paul Walker's younger brother, Cody, to play a new character.

Following Paul Walker's tragic death in a car accident in late 2013, Cody Walker was enlisted by Universal to portray the character of Brian O'Connor as stand in body double in several unfinished scenes of "Fast & Furious 7". The brothers look strikingly similar. Although the younger Walker's potential role has yet to be confirmed, stars such as Vin Diesel, The Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Jason Statham have already confirmed their involvement. Lucas Black, star of "Tokyo Drift", and Eva Mendes, are both also rumored to make a return.
