With several debuts already slated for next month's New York Auto Show, BMW may now be planning to add another model to its list of VIP appearances. Joining the BMW X3 facelift and the new X4 crossover in their world premieres, BMW will also show America its Alpina B6 Gran Coupe and hybrid X5 eDrive for the first time. But according to rumors, Bimmer will also unleash the convertible version of the M4, the hard-top convertible brother of the coupe we met in Detroit.

As seen in some of the spy shots we've shown you, the M4 convertible will ride on 18-inch wheels and combine some carbon-fiber elements. Under the hood it will be identical to the coupe model, with a 3.0-liter TwinPower turbo six-cylinder engine delivering 431 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. 0-62 mph times should also be fairly close to the coupe's 4.1-seconds, and it will hit a matching top speed of 174 mph.
