Last week we set ourselves the task of filling out an awesome three-car garage for less than $30,000. We could only pick cars that are currently for sale and we had to have a car for the family, a daily driver, and a sports car. Our garage featured a Saab, a Volkswagen, and even a Porsche that we could buy without going over budget. This week, we are giving ourselves a bigger budget to see how awesome our garage will be. Let's see how cool our three-car garage will be with a budget of $50,000. Once again, all of these cars are listed for sale.

Last week we picked a Porsche Boxster as our sports car, and this week we are sticking with a German car. We decided on a 2002 E46 BMW M3. For many people, this car needs no introduction. Powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six with 333 horsepower, our Silverstone Metallic E46 comes with a black interior and the proper six-speed manual. The car is for sale in California with 81,000 miles for just under $20,000. The M3 is the most expensive car on our list, but with the E46, it's worth getting a nicely maintained one. These cars can get expensive and you don't want to inherit someone's problem, as you will see with our next car.

Our daily driver last time was also German, a Volkswagen Jetta. This time, with our extra budget we were able to get the most expensive car that Volkswagen ever made, the Phaeton. We found a 2004 Phaeton with 71,000 miles. The car is also for sale in California for just under $15,000. For that you get a 4.2-liter V8 with 335 horsepower. The Phaeton was built as the ultimate car to rival the likes of the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series. The Phaeton shared its platform and components with the Audi A8 and Bentley Continental. Basically you're buying a car with the same luxury as a Bentley for less that the price of a brand new Jetta. We may have shot ourselves in the foot here because maintenance costs will match a Bentley's.

For our family car, we decided to go with one of the most reliable cars that money can buy, a Toyota Land Cruiser. Although, a Toyota doesn't really fit next to our BMW and our Bentley so we found a 2002 Lexus LX 470. The Lexus LX is based on the Land Cruiser but comes with a bit more luxury on the inside. This car will fit seven people comfortably and will easily be the most reliable car in our garage. Our Lexus has 88,000 miles on it, so it can probably go another 200,000. We found ours for sale in Illinois for $15,000. What do you think of our $50,000 garage? What would you buy with the same parameters in mind? Let us know in the comments, and put your prices in there.
