Hennessey isn’t stopping there, as the tuner wants to crank the Demon up to 1,500 hp.
For most people, the Dodge Demon has more than enough muscle. With 840 horses under the hood, the Demon will rocket from 0-62 mph in a hair-raising 2.1 seconds and do the quarter mile in under ten seconds. If you're still not satisfied, Hennessey Performance is now offering an HPE1200 upgrade package that, as the name implies, raises the output to a whopping 1,200 hp. The tuner has released a new video showing a Demon with the HPE1200 package installed in action prior to a customer delivery.
To demonstrate its improved performance, Hennessey performed a straight-line acceleration test where it took just eight seconds to speed from 64 mph to 148 mph. We suspect it could also be capable of doing the quarter mile in under nine seconds after Hennessey's 1,000-hp Demon clocked a time of 9.14 seconds.
Hennessey released full details explaining how it has managed to extract such insane levels of power from the already potent Demon, but the supercharger has been upgraded as well as the headers and exhaust system. Hennessey also uses forged internals and remaps the ECU.
Hennessey also makes the Demon NHRA compliant with a roll cage and the car even gets a parachute upgrade. Yes, this beast is so fast it needs a parachute to help it stop in time during track runs.
Then there's the soundtrack: we could happily listen to that screaming supercharger all day. If 1,200 hp sounds excessive, Hennessey is also offering a 1,000-hp tuning package for the Demon but the goal is to crank the demonic muscle car up to 1,500 hp. Sadly, the Demon is no longer in production, but Hennessey will happily install similar upgrades for your Charger or Challenger Hellcat.
