The finalists for the 2014 World Car of the Year Awards have been announced. Handpicked from a list of 38 models, the Audi A3, BMW 4 Series and Mazda3 will battle it out for the overall title; the World Luxury Car of the Year finalists include the Bentley Flying Spur, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Range Rover Sport; while the Performance Car of the Year award will go to the Corvette Stingray, Ferrari 458 Speciale or the Porsche 911 GT3.

Other trophy contenders include the Audi A3 Sportback G-Tron, Audi E-Gas and BMW i3 for the World Green Car of the Year, while BMW i3, Mazda3 and Mercedes C-Class are all vying to be crowned World Car Design of the Year. Winners will be announced in April at the New York Auto Show.
