Severely damaged in a crash, the sad Lambo is now for sale.
A 2022 Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae has popped up on Copart with the current bid sitting at a bargain price of $221,000, but of course, there's a catch. This particular Ultimae suffered serious damage in a crash after having covered just 1,064 miles, and is being sold with the "AO" damage code indicating All Over damage.
That explains the current bid which is far below what other Ultimaes sold for on Bring A Trailer (between $590,000 and $805,000). Those prices are extreme but somewhat understandable considering that the Ultimae is considered an ode to the Aventador supercar as well as the last use of the V12 without electrification assistance of any kind.
While this is not the first Ultimae to be damaged early in its life, it's the worst we've seen.
Most of the damage can be found at the back of this gray Ultimae, with the entire rear section including the taillights ripped off. Both rear tires are also gone, and the right rear wheel has been bent out of position. Suspension and potential frame damage to this extent, and on a car like this, may not be worth the astronomical repair bill.
In front, the right rear section of the body has also been ripped off, making us wonder what kind of crash or incident this car was involved in.
Inside, the cabin appears unblemished and there was no apparent airbag deployment, but the instrument cluster does indicate a parking brake failure.
The seller is listed as State Farm Insurance, and at a current bid of $221,000, the reserve price has not yet been met. If the damage somehow appears worse from the outside than it actually is, the eventual buyer may just end up with the cheapest means to Aventador Ultimae ownership.
Considering that Lamborghini only promised to make 350 Ultimae coupes, any one of those that is lost to a crash is especially tragic. The heart of this beast is its free-revving V12 that produces 769 horsepower, hurtling the Ultimae towards the horizon at a dramatic rate.
Although the plug-in hybrid Revuelto betters the Aventador Ultimae in several key areas, the latter is the last of a very special breed. We hope that somehow, this damaged 2022 example lives on and can be returned to a semblance of its former glory.
