Genesis is opening a brand-new dealership slash sophisticated oasis in the New York Meatpacking District, adjacent to Little Island and the High Line. This comes shortly after Genesis announced that it will build the GV70 in the USA.

It's called Genesis House, and it will open this upcoming Friday and Genesis says it will offer "extraordinary experiences influenced by Korean culture and community, culinary excellence, and innovative architecture and technology." In short, it's a Genesis dealer with an upmarket restaurant and decoration inspired by Korean culture. If you look at the photographs, you can see just how much of an upscale experience it will be.

Genesis says it chose New York for two reasons. First, it has a long history of unveiling new models at the New York Motor Show. Secondly, it makes quite a statement opening such a high-class facility in a world-class city.

Genesis House was designed by Seoul-based architecture firm Suh Architects. The brand is big on design, hiring Lamborghini's ex-designer to pen its new cars.

Genesis says it's distinctly Korean and progressive, meant to inspire the community to gather in a serene place. And grab some food. Genesis House will also run curated programs that will inspire conversations about design, food, travel, health, and future mobility.

"Genesis House is not just a showroom. This is a sophisticated oasis. The place where we share our inspirations at the heart of New York City," said Jay Chang, Global Head of the Genesis Brand. "At Genesis, we welcome customers as if they are guests in our own house. We want our guests to feel Genesis' sincerity and strive to provide them with the right experience at the right time. This defines our brand values."

When fully operational, Genesis House will have a restaurant curated by Onjium. The latter is a Michelin-star restaurant based in Seoul. This is the first time Onjium will be opening a facility outside of Korea. In addition to the above, there will be a Tea Room, also curated by Onjium. The Tea Room will be led by a trained tea specialist, and it will have a library with panoramic views of the Hudson River.

An outdoor terrace garden gives guests an unobstructed view of the High Line. The terrace is roughly 9,500 square feet big, and it is surrounded by traditional Korean landscapes. A Cellar Stage allows for state-of-the-art presentations, while the library will offer Korean literature on art, design, food, and travel.

Oh, and there will also be a showroom where you can look at Genesis cars like the GV70 and G80. To make the cars look as good as possible, Genesis uses reflections from a tessellated mirror display.
